Award-winning architecture

With its own showroom concept, Miele aims at making special features of its products real and tangible worldwide; in many metropolises in the world, Miele showrooms invite everyone to immerse themselves in the world of pleasure and lifestyle. The Miele Gallery in Chile's capital city is characterised first and foremost by its attractive location. When designing the Santiago de Chile showroom, which was opened in December 2010, the focus was on creating space for the art of living with active kitchens - room for product presentations, cookery events, fashion shows, events for customers and many more.

The great store that Miele places not only in its own products, but in excellent design and high functionality in terms of the surrounding architecture, has now been rewarded. The building, designed by the Chilean architect Gonzalo Mardones Viviani, received the prestigious "International Property Award" for best building in the "Central and South America" category. This prize is awarded by an eight-strong international jury consisting of architects, journalists and real estate experts in cooperation with Bloomberg TV and Google. For this extraordinary building it is the third award for design and functionality after "Bienal de Buenos Aires" and the "World Architecture Festival".

In 2011, Miele also presented itself in another building designed by Viviani in the biggest exhibition of architecture in Latin America - the CasaCor in Santiago de Chile exhibition. The Miele 'LightBox', infused with light and seemingly almost levitating, with more than 100 square metres is an exclusive kitchen-cum-lounge equipped with high-quality kitchen appliances. In the exhibition, the Miele "LightBox" brought the kitchen into the centre of the living area, promoting it as space where special moments can be experienced with special people – where the results of tried-and-tested state-of-the-art technology from Miele can be enjoyed.
