Palm Jumeirah – Dubai

2001 saw the start of a spectacular project just off the coast of Dubai. First, over 200 million cubic metres of sand and rock had to be raised and then settled. The mixture was fortified using a special technique so that it would not collapse over the years; machine-generated vibrations accelerated the natural settlement process, which would normally occur over decades, and helped solidify the foundations for this exciting new project. Where before there was only water now stand over one thousand villas – deliberately constructed in a range of architectural styles – as well as several shopping malls and hotels, including the legendary Atlantis Hotel. Together, they have transformed the island into a dream holiday destination. Surrounded by water and coral reefs, Palm Jumeirah is also a divers’ paradise.

A total of 1,350 villas and 2,650 apartments, with private sandy beaches and views overlooking the dazzling turquoise sea, have been built on Palm Jumeirah. All of the properties were sold within three weeks of being put on the market, and it’s not hard to see why; whether on holiday or living here permanently, Palm Jumeirah offers the ultimate in luxury. The villas themselves are some of the best in the world and cater to every taste, being equipped with the highest quality materials, top brands and the most innovative technology. It is only logical, then, that many of the villas’ kitchens are fitted with built-in Miele appliances.
