Miele@home

These days, a variety of electronic appliances make it easier to do the housework, to store and prepare food, to clean dishes and wash clothes. At the same time, these appliances produce a constant stream of information, which must be controlled and managed. Miele has developed a system that uses modern technology to bring together all this information and display it centrally. This allows all relevant information to be viewed and monitored at a single glance, allowing you to use the time saved for the important things in life.

SuperVision

With SuperVision, the current status of networked appliances can be read in a central location, for example on the display panel of the oven. This allows you to keep an eye on all networked appliances in the household and react immediately if necessary. The end of a programme cycle is signalled with a sound and an image.

Con@ctivity

This feature allows communication between hobs and cooker hoods: Informtion on activities at the hob is gathered and directly evaluated by the cooker hood controls, allowing the hood to automatically pre-empt occurrences on the hob and adjust extraction and lighting accordingly. The results are a good room climate and protection of the environment as unnecessary energy consumption is avoided.

Gateway

With the use of a Miele gateway, networked household appliances are integrated into the existing domestic bus system. This allows the remote control and management of connected household appliances, for example from a personal computer via the internet, or a mobile phone.

Info Service

Miele@home has also established new, fast ways to support its customers. With the “InfoService” function, appliances can send status updates, instructions and error messages by e-mail – accompanied by tips on how to resolve them. If a customer service representative still needs to be consulted, they will be able to solve the problem quickly and efficiently due to the detailed information provided.

Smart Grid ready

In a smart grid, electricity prices vary throughout the day and reflect supply and demand. With smart grid technology, Miele appliances are able to use lower-rate tariffs offered by electricity boards. The appliances are fitted with a communication module to exchange data with the Miele@home gateway using existing power lines. Information on electricity rates is stored there and the appliances are automatically started at the most economical time.
